Johnny Depp, The Hopeless Romantic
Lori Anne Allison: The one who made Depp famous
Johnny Depp was first married to makeup artist Lori Anne Allison, who was instrumental in Depp’s success in Hollywood. The couple married in 1983 and despite only being married for two years, it was Allison who introduced the star to Nicholas Cage, who helped him land his part in A Nightmare on Elm Street. The 1984 horror film was an instant hit and catapulted Depp to stardom.
Jennifer Grey: From falling in love to getting fired
Johnny Depp reportedly had a crush on the ‘Dirty Dancing’ star and insisted his agent introduce him. The two met on a blind date and there was an instant fireworks display. They had a rushed engagement and Gray was absolutely smitten with the actor when Depp suddenly switched the subject to Winona Rider.
Winona Ryder: Not forever, anyway
One of the relationships Depp had talked about the most was with fellow Edward Scissorhands co-star Winona Ryder. Ryder and Depp were also famous, engaged, and so in love that Depp went ahead and got a “Winona Forever” tattoo. Unfortunately for the couple, their relationship ended in 1993, just three years after they began working on the sets of a surreal film. Depp still has the tattoo, but the words have been changed to “Wino Forever.”
Kate Moss: the loyal follower
The relationship between the famous British model Kate Moss and Johnny Depp began in 1994 when the couple met in a New York restaurant. The couple dated for four years before going their separate ways. Moss apparently spent “years crying” after their romance ended.
However, the model had nothing but good things to say about her ex during the recent runway show for Amber Heard and Johnny Depp. There were rumors that Depp pushed Moss down the stairs when they met and Amber Heard addressed this in her testimony, but Moss appeared as a witness for Depp at his recent trial and dismissed these rumors as false.
Vanessa Paradis: The one who said yes
Depp had a longer and more stable relationship with Venessa Paradis after failed relationships with Moss and Ryder. The couple were married for 14 years and during that time had two children, Lily-Rose in 1999 and Jack in 2002.
However, the two split in 2012 and while it wasn’t an easy split, things didn’t go awry between them. It was widely believed that the breakup was due to the couple’s conflicting schedules.
Amber Heard: The one who claimed abuse
Johnny Depp met Amber Heard on the set of The Rum Diary. However, during the time the two were in a relationship, they didn’t start dating until 2012. The couple dated for a while before getting married in 2015. This was followed by their tumultuous marriage, which lasted about two years.
However, after the divorce, Heard wrote an opinion piece for the Washington Post in which she claimed to have been a victim of domestic violence and, without naming Depp, implied that he was the perpetrator. This comment resulted in Depp being removed from several films, and eventually the actor sued his ex-wife for defamation.
