How to apply for CLAT PG?

CLAT PG – Common Law Admission Test for post-graduate. It is a national-level entrance test for admission into dignified and certified law universities. Around twenty-two, National Law Universities of India participate in the exam. The Consortium of NLUs conducts the exam. Students give the entrance test to get admission into a one-year LLM course. The LLM PG course is offered at 19 National Law Universities of India. Also, 61 other private affiliated law colleges accept CLAT exam scores.

Application Procedure Of CLAT PG

The students applying for CLAT PG need to understand the application and registration process in detail. When you get a brief idea of the application procedure, you can do the steps easily.

Registration Process

The registration process is simple, but the student has to do it carefully. A small mistake can lead to the failure of registration. First, the students need to visit the official site of the CLAT exam. The link is – consortiumofnlus.ac.in. After you get into the portal, you will find a new registration option. Click on the new registration link. 

You must fill in the registration form, which consists of a contact number, name, email ID and submit option. Every option is mandatory; without filling it, your registration won’t be successful. You will receive OTP- a one-time password on your registered mail ID or phone number. After entering the password, your registration completes. Now, you can proceed further in the process.

Login

After the registration process, you must log in to your account to fill out the form. While logging in, it will ask for some necessary details such as Email ID and password. It will let you access the application form. It is a simple, easy step without much requirement.

Form Fill Up

After the registration and login process, the candidates need to fill in the application form for CLAT PG. The candidate should fill in the application form carefully without any mistakes. It is important to keep the necessary documents nearby during the process. It is divided into five major sections: personal details, educational details, communication details, preferences, and reservations.

Personal Details

In the personal details section, you have to upload a passport-size photograph with your signature and date. Then, you need to fill in the personal details such as the name, parents’ name, date of birth, nationality, gender, residential status, and NRI category. After filling in the details, click next to open the communication section.

Communication Details

The aspirants need to fill in the details such as the permanent address, correspondence address, mobile number and E-Mail ID address in the communication section. After filling the section, save the details and proceed forward.

Educational Details

In the education section, the candidates need to fill in the graduation details for CLAT PG. It includes the qualifying exam, board or university name, status of passing, year of passing and percentage. 

Preferences

CLAT PG takes place in around 131 exam centres in India. Candidates can prefer three exam centres based on their convenience. The exam centre allotment will be based on the candidate’s preference and seat availability in the exam centre. 

Reservations

You need to check the reservations before filling the section. The national law universities provide domicile reservations for the candidates. Eligible candidates can apply under domicile category seats.

Form Submission

After filling in the above sections and details, you need to preview it to check whether you mentioned everything accurately. You can edit it before the final submission in case of any errors. It is necessary to check the details before submitting it. Especially, take the proper preview of the application form and check whether all the mandatory details are mentioned or not. 

Fees Payment

The final step is fee payment. After completing the application process, the candidate should pay their application fee using the payment gateway. For the General, NRI, OBC, PwD, PIO, and OCI categories, the application fees cost INR 4,000. For SC, ST and BPL categories, the application fee is INR 3,500. The mode of payment available is Net Banking, Credit Card and Debit Card.

Correction Window CLAT PG Application Form 

The consortium provides a correction window for CLAT PG after the application form is closed. In the correction, you will be given two to three days’ time to review and edit their CLAT PG registration form.
